ZEDfactory - 2006/01/31 19:16
It is good to see that a link to ZEDfactory has been added to the Lewes Matters website. This is exactly the kind of thing the sustainability group has been talking about. If we are to have a development on this site it is essentiial that it is one which does not contribute to pronblems associated with climate change - global warming, water shortages, flooding problems (yes, paradoxically, both of these). I hope that many people will visit the ZEDfactory site and see for themselves some of the many technologies now available. If these were used in the building of the Phoenix area, then not only would it be possible to have a carbon neutral development, but also a development of which our town could be proud and which could be a beacon for good practice.
The sustainabilty group is also hoping to organise a vsit to Woking, which has an excellent Climate Change Strategy in place. We then hope to pressure LDC into adopting something similar, so that they would have to insist that thedevelopers employ many of the technologies available from ZEDfactory.
