LDC Planning Dept - 2008/06/04 13:16 as the activities of Lewes District Council have begun to interest a wider audience, could anyone tell me if Jenny Mumford is still being threatened with court action, and what she is actually being accused of.

many thanks.

Re:LDC Planning Dept - 2008/06/11 11:28 I don't know what is happening to Jenny Mumford. Perhaps she is on the run?! She has however produced more posters from her secret crime lair.

The Planning department are now attracting attention all over the place, including a TV programme. Their latest mistake at Lewes House is terrible, especially given all their claims in the local paper about giving listed buildings special protection. If they were going to prosecute Jenny, what are they going to do to their own officers?

Re:LDC Planning Dept - 2008/06/11 11:46 Is it possible to stop the 'development' of Chruch Twitten, or is it too late? Somone in S.Express suggested a sit in. Is this a possibility? With the Harvey's development now on the drawing board, Lewes is under more threat than ever, and Friends of Lewes are no help at all. It seems as if the inhabitants of Lansdown Placeand Friars Walk are consulted by the developers, but people in other parts of Lewes would like to help too.

Re:LDC Planning Dept - 2008/06/16 10:05 Unfortunately the Lewes house site decision is final. You only have a right to appeal against a decision if you are an applicant! Even if you know that a decision was illegal, you cannot get an appeal, you can only ask for a judicial review of the decision. It is a failure in government policy that our MP's should be questioning. Our useless planning department keep benefitting from the situation. The latest news about the Lewes House site is that English heritage have agreed that a historic building on the site is listed. Our completely questionable planning staff have approved demolition of this lovely little building, without realising/admitting that it is listed. This apalling mistake is attracting a lot of attention as it is not the first major mistake, and there is now a BBC investiogative TV programme going around town!

I still don't know if Jenny Mumford has been taken to court, or recieved an apology. Norman Baker should be asked to comment.
