Phoenix Ironworks & Brighton Bandstand - 2008/11/03 19:10Probably the most well-known product of Phoenix Ironworks is the famous Western Bandstand on Brighton sea front. A few weeks ago we dismantled the whole structure and moved it to our works in Derbyshire for complete restoration. The design of the bandstand is unique and the cast iron roof framework(previously hidden)is of considerable engineering interest. I hope to publish a short article on this roof when we've finished restoring it. I'm very interested to find out more about Phoenix and particularly any information relating to the 1880s when this bandstand was built. This could include product brochures, any surviving records or even views of the works.
