Re:GO AWAY MR STYLE - 2007/06/20 00:20Oh, and I should also say that if you could see what I did at the Jam factory you wouldn't necessarily want a Style building. Have you ever seen one in the 'flesh'? It was really badly built out of flimsy materials, like flexible blue plastic, thin metal screwed on as window lintels, really badly cut wood with big gaps where the insulation was sticking out, and wobbly bits of wood that had gone grey, and stained on top by urine that had left spray marks that hadn't disappeared in the rain. I also expect that Wimpey might build the correct number of storeys without ending uop ina massive long legal battle that Angel do now admit was at least partly there fault. Yes they have finally admitted some responsibility. My question is why on earth would a Council sell half the land on the Phoenix Estate to someone like this? It would be completely reckless, and improper.

Re:GO AWAY MR STYLE - 2008/03/27 22:53I am a Lewes teenager , who recently had a letter published in the sussex express voicing her positive thoughts both towards Charles and the development. I find not only the title of this topic but also the content disgustingly rude, offensive and pointless.
Some of the opinions I read seem to be emotional fueled perosnal attacks on the developer rather than relevant and rational viewpoints. I wonder if any of you have stopped to think about actually speaking to charles in person before judging him?
I think you need to stop childisly bickering about tiny details and start looking at the bigger picture and the needs of others and how beneficial this development could be to our lives.

Re:GO AWAY MR STYLE - 2008/03/28 23:33I would agree that 'go away Mr Style' is not the best expression of frustration, but I am afraid that when Mr Style is caught misleading a Planning Committee in Southwark, and builds 5 story buildings without planning permission, then it is hard to be very sympathetic. He is yet to explain why he did this.
Have you both spoken to Mr Syle? or perhaps you know him?
I would be interested to know what he has told you about these issues.

Re:GO AWAY MR STYLE - 2008/03/29 13:21I agree with Sashka on this - it would be helpful if 'doodles' could let us know what Mr Style has told her directly about the Jam Factory fiasco and his plans for the Phoenix site.
For myself, I don't think I need to get personally acquainted with Mr Style to take a view on his history as a developer - it is on public record.

Re:GO AWAY MR STYLE - 2008/03/29 23:40I would love to know if the people who keep repeating the same response to anyone who supports the development, have any better ideas as to how to redevelop this rundown area. It is so easy to be critical it much harder to have any kind of vision. That is what is needed here is a clear response to what you would like to see. A young girl has the guts to say that this development has huge potential for her and for others. Clearly this site will be redeveloped tell us what you want to see. Do you have ideas rather than petty criticism of another project that is not in Lewes.
