Block E has been refused, and the block that was built too big, has only been allowed if it can accommodate the affordable housing, and amenity space is provided. There was a 5hr debate, and Councillors themselves were highly critical of what Angel have been doing without permission. Every block on the site has had a myriad of planning faults identified, and sympathy was expressed to the tenants who have been unable to sell or lease properties due to what has become a 7yr fiasco. It is not a pretty picture at all, and has cost the taxpayers of Southwark thousands to deal with.
