Having established with the developer that a more realistic date for an application will be the beginning of August, this has raised for us some serious questions which need rapid clarification. Technically from the date the application appears in the Sussex Express residents wishing to write letters of objection or support will have only 21 days to write to the Planning Department. Yes, just twenty one days in August when many of us are on holiday, including Officers in the Planning Department for whom we will surely have important questions.

We announced several weeks ago that Wenban Smith had been sold. We can now confirm that the site is to be developed by Barratts.

Interestingly Barratts have also been linked to the 'Phoenix Quarter' proposals. In a meeting in March, with Angel Property, it was made clear to us that of the 800 proposed dwellings, the developer only planned on building 100 himself, selling on the remaining plots to other developers. A reliable source has informed us that  Barratts were one of the developers in discussions with Angel Property.
