Building Density

This is clearly a very sensitive and controversial subject. Below is the table which Charles Style has provided us with, along with the following statement...

"We have calculated the density of the scheme as shown at our exhibition as being 118 dwellings per hectare. The design was influenced by the Urban Design Compendium, produced by English Partnerships and the Housing Corporation in 2000, we attach the Density Matrix included in the Compendium, it was prepared by Llewlyn Davis for LPAC, DETR, GOL, and HC. all government bodies. As you can see the density  for a scheme of mostly flats, which ours is, would be considered to be suburban, the density is therefore if anything on the low side and mosty certainly nothing like inner London as has been described. The density will of course be checked by the planners when we submit our planning application and may in any event change as the scheme evolves before submission."
